We’re building a movement that invites everyone into a daily rhythm with God’s Word.
At YouVersion, we believe something powerful happens when people draw near to God through Scripture. That belief began with a team at Life.Church in Oklahoma that simply wanted to remove the barriers that kept people from reading the Bible.
What started out as an idea in an airport has quickly become a global movement, getting Scripture to people around the world like never before. From smartphones and tablets to Bible software development kits (SDKs), everything we build is centered around one idea: God's Word has the power to transform lives.
And we believe wholeheartedly that God is calling us to get His Word to everyone, everywhere, every day.

A Story of
God’s Faithfulness
YouVersion began in 2007 as a digital ministry of Life.Church, a local church in Oklahoma with a heart for global impact. Today, it remains a relatively small team of software developers, systems engineers, designers, data analysts, marketers, writers, managers, and support staff. Many of us left corporate careers to pursue our passion for leading people to become fully devoted followers of Christ.
This work is personal to us. Our lives have been changed by God’s Word, and we want to share it with others.
But we couldn’t do this work alone. We partner with Bible societies and publishers, with content producers from other ministries, and with a global network of passionate volunteers. All of us are united in a single vision: to see everyone, everywhere, connecting with God’s Word every day.
