Approaching its second anniversary, YouVersion’s Bible App Lite growth continues to accelerate, tripling in installs since last October. With more than 40 million installs in the past year alone, the lite app has now been installed a total of more than 55 million times since its launch, marking the fastest growth rate within the YouVersion Family of Apps, which also includes the Bible App (2008) and Bible App for Kids (2013).
Designed to help people access God’s Word in areas with device and data limitations, Bible App Lite has seen rapid adoption across Africa, SE Asia, and Latin America. The countries currently seeing the highest number of installs are India, Kenya, and Nigeria.

Initially available in Kenya, Nigeria, and Uganda, Bible App Lite expanded into the rest of Africa in December 2022 before launching in SE Asia in the spring of 2023 and in Latin America by the end of last year. It’s now available in 192 countries and territories, with Bible text available in more than 300 languages and an app interface in 36 languages.
