Partner Spotlight: Grace Bible Church

Located in the bustling college town of Bryan-College Station, Texas, Grace Bible Church stands as a vibrant example of a church living out the Great Commission — right from their own backyard. “Our story, it’s just a happy accident with the Bible App,” shared Amber Roberts, Creative Director at Grace Bible Church, during our recent YouVersion Partner Summit. “I really want to encourage church leaders who don’t have a church page yet in the Bible App.”

That “happy accident” came from a real challenge: how to stay connected with students beyond the Sunday service.

“We wanted to connect with our students and wanted them to engage with us,” Amber said. “Every week on a Sunday, we have around 1,000 college students who attend our campuses. How do we get them to engage when they leave the church building?”

Their answer? Go where their students already are.

“Students don’t check their emails or go to the website very much,” Amber continued. “But they all have the Bible App. Even when our pastor tells people to pull out their Bible, and it’s just common, they pull out their phone and open the Bible App. That’s where we needed to be to connect!”

Grace Bible Church leaned into that insight. Instead of handing out physical devotional booklets as they had in the past, they began creating digital versions through the Bible App, using features like Plans with Friends and small groups to deepen their discipleship model.

The results were remarkable.

What started as a way to stay connected locally turned into a global impact. One of their most popular Bible Plans recently surpassed 135,000 subscriptions and over 64,000 completions. And their total Plan engagement? Nearly 750,000 subscriptions across more than 215 countries around the world.

By simply serving their own community well — meeting college students where they were and offering content in a format they already loved — Grace Bible Church has helped people around the world engage with Scripture daily.
