Celebrating BibleProject: One Million Followers in the Bible App

At YouVersion, we’re honored to partner with ministries passionate about seeing global, daily Scripture engagement become a reality. And we love seeing them interact with and impact our Community! 

In the Bible App, our Community can follow their favorite Partners to receive updates when they post new content. That way, they can hear from ministries that they trust and dig into God’s Word with them. 

In YouVersion Connect, Partners can see data and stats about their Followers to help them create content that speaks to their people.

And, we’re excited to share that BibleProject is the first Partner to reach one million Followers in the Bible App! 

BibleProject has an app, website, YouTube channel, and podcast that help people discover their content every day. And through their Partner Page, they’ve been able to reach even more people with truth.

Michael McDonald, Chief Strategic Relationships Officer at BibleProject, said, “It’s humbling to know that so many people around the world are following along daily, diving into the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus. We couldn’t be more grateful.”

But, how have they gotten to this point? 

Their mission is built upon a need felt specifically by founders Tim Mackie and Jon Collins—how to help people read God’s Word and discuss it in a way that is relatable yet theologically rich. And that has guided every decision along the way! 

In the Bible App, they’ve packaged their content to suit the needs and interests of their Followers. Plans are posted in a timely manner for seasonal content and regularly updated throughout the year. Videos are organized by topic on their Page so that people can easily find what interests them. 

BibleProject has collaborated with other Partners, like The Chosen, to create Plans together. By combining their Bible study content with The Chosen’s theatrical content, they have expanded their reach and helped Scripture come to life in a new way.

And it’s all to serve the person on the other side of the screen! “There’s something powerful about that many people, in that many places, gathering around the same words on the same day,” says McDonald.
